On seeing the Big Apple

Recently I spent a few days in New York, driving from Brooklyn to Manhattan the energy shift was palpable. Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge  the intensity increased, from cup of coffee  to a triple shot of expresso. There was much to see, so much to do and photos I  had planned  to take. Famous landmarks, time square, broadway, the statue of liberty, the wall street bull, the many  fabulous building  I wanted to capture lured me to there feet.  The camera’s eye became my eye; composition, light, movement and patterns become evident as I took those pictures. Yet, as  I looked over my photos and reflected back on my experience, the reality/ unreality of New York became apparent to me. The city seemed cloaked in myth,  these photographs  reflect  some of what  I encountered.

As I walked about Midtown Manhattan, I saw reflections everywhere, buildings were magnified and reshaped in each others presence
